Hello!Newbie on this Forum!
I,am collector from Sweden,i collect VideoTapes.
2 weeks ago,i came over some VCR&V2000 Players...when i bought some Videotapes....
I have some difficulties with the V2000(2X4 GRUNDIG) players...
I have 4 pieces of the 2x4 machine"s..with the same problem!!
It seems to work, everything is Lightning there is power..BUT!..WHEN i insert a V2000 tape..it doesnt GO to the right place..it stops inside..and It doensnt GO "down"..to its right place..
Iam asking for Help,if some of you had this problem before?
Could it be some "engine"for this mechanism that is broken?
Hope for some help!! Thanx Johan

Hello Johan,
it seems a bit strange to me, that ALL four machines show the same symptomes: No loading of the cassette.
You can check the following:
1. The Cassette Sensor (or loading switch) behind the front "lip" of the cassette holder.
2. Open the machines and search for broken plugs (red, black and so on), because at the age of 25 years they often break and cause loose contact on the printed circuit boards. You can repair these plugs by strong winding some adhesive tape around them.
It is also possible, that somewhere in the loading mechanism is a blockage. But that is something that only you can look for, because the machines are not avilable for me to look inside
PLEASE: unplug the AC-Connector before you open the Recorders! High voltages inside (V-2000 operates with up to 150 Volts for the "Dynamic Track Following" System!). So, be careful!
P.S.: I suppose you mean the type "2x4 super", on the back labeled with "Bestell-Nr. 800" (or perhaps 880 = 2x4 super stereo)???
Sorry for my bad english, but it is now over 20 years ago when i learnt this language in school.
Best regards!
stego
P.S.2: It would have been better to open a new thread, because THIS thread is for the Grundig 2x4 plus from 1979, which is in many things different from your 2x4 super. |

Yes, this IS the legendary "2x4 super", labeled as "Bestell-Nr. 800".
Then all I have said in my last posting could be possible.
BTW: The Cassette-switch is on the right side of the "lip" of the cassette holder, about 2 cm away from the right edge, a small switch behind the "lip".
Best regards,
stego
