I think that many of the people in this board don't understand what ya want! (Me too)

Sorry, this was a long shot. I know from my business contacts through work that german and austrian people are not so good in english which surprises me. Don't you read english in school? Every (almost) swede under 55 years old can understand english pretty well. I speak english to my german clients and they speak german. Most of the time we understand each other.

OK, I have used the Altavista translation service. Is it clearer? German to english is rather funny to read....

English to german is even funnier to read

Sometimes i can't understand why so many people have problems reading and understanding english. All german kids learn english at school from the 5th grade on, in some schools even from the 3rd. Maybe it's because most people don't need english in their daily life. Foreign movies are dubbed on german TV, not subtitled like in scandinavian countries or in the netherlands.

but i think most people don't need such regulator, in most cases types like a 78xx/79xx are good enought and also expensive top class devices are equipped with standard parts like such integrated regulators and their preamps often have >120dB SNR - maybe that's also a reason for the low interest in this thread

i hope i don't annoy anybody but these things are for freaks and fanatics ;)

2SJ200, you are totally right. This regulator isn't made for those who thinks 78xx/79xx is enough. This regulator is extreme and is well-suited for fanatics.

I don't know about you, germans, but are you satisfied with plain stuff only? I'll guess this is your personal opinion? From what I have seen so far germans makes wonderful Selbstbau stuff and they will not settle for 78/79 regulators and NE5534 opamps.

Anyway I just wanted to mention about this group buy if anyone was interested.

In germany, there are three different kinds of schools that you finish after nine, ten or (twelve)/thirteen years. AFAIK, nowadays, you can finish school in germany only after having had at least five years of english lessons. Usually, you can have at most nine years of english lessons.

I always assumed that's also true for Germans.

There is, of course, one thing to consider: the more people speak your language, the less motivation you have to maintain your foreign language skills. The total population of Germany is about ten times the one of Sweden. Plus, Germany is surrounded by countries where German is either the national language (Swiss, Austria) or where German is widely (Netherlands) or halfway (parts of France, e.g.) well understood.

Just look at France or the USA! Speaking a world language, you get along without a foreign language pretty well most of the time. :)
