Why do you think, the capstan causes the fault?
The capstan is only a metal shaft, with a flywheel on its bottom side.
A rubber belt is around the flywheel for the drive.

The only magnetic part of the capstan is the (brown) pad on the bottom side of the flywheel.

First check:

- Is the mounting plate of the capstan mounted exactly centered? This is important for a constant tape drive.
- Are all the blue sealings on the allignment screws (erase head and audio head) still ok? Or are they broken (someone has already turned around on them)?
If the seals are still unbroken, please DO NOT TURN ON ANY OF THIS SCREWS!!!
- Is the tape path ok (pinch roller, all tape levers)?
- The two contacts and the grounding contact(top side of the head drum) are ok? Not worn or twisted?
- Is the tape tension ok? Does the display show the correct tape size (C4 for VCC-480, C3 for VCC-360)? If not, the tape tension is not correct, too.
Is the voltage on the capstan motor constant?
Sometimes, the capstan motor itself has a fault!

The Siemens FM-404:
yes, the power supply is faulty. This may come from dry capacitors, the voltages are not stabile enough. The switching power supply increases and decreases the voltages because of the dry capacitors (feedback from the secondary side of the transformer to the controller IC on the primary side).

I would change ALL electrolyitc capacitors in the power supply at first.
Next check the missing voltages.
If marked with (A), then the voltage is only present in "Record" (german = Aufnahme) mode.
With (W), the voltage is only at playback (german = Wiedergabe).
With (F), the voltage is for a special function.

Now the Interfunk Stereo 2x8:

The sparks in the picture can have different reasons:
1. The video heads are worn - no chance to repair.
2. the Dynamic Track Following system is not working correctly. Here, you must check at first the presence of the + and - 150 Volts from the power supply. Moreover, check ALL Voltages of this machine as well.
3. The pickup-shoes in the head drum motor are dirty or worn. For checking this, you must open the head drum motor:
- First remove the bottom cover (three screws)
- then also remove the upper cover and remove the meta...

Die Reparatur ist Dir ja recht gut gelungen!
Könnte höchstens sein, daß Du den Kopf-Umschaltzeitpunkt etwas korrigieren mußt, da Dein "neuer" Lichtschranken-Unterbrecher weiter "vorne" sitzt, als der originale (der müßte direkt dort gewesen sein, wo das Loch in der Scheibe zu sehen ist).

Ohne Korrektur könnte jetzt das Bild zu weit oben oder unten sein.

Den Regler "CR" darfst Du bedenkenlos verstellen, bis Dir der Schärfeeindruck paßt.

Von der Drop-Out-Kompensation bitte unbedingt die Finger lassen !!!

Die Bänder sind halt auch schon in die Jahre gekommen. In dem Alter hat so manches VHS-Band ein noch schrecklicheres Bild.
Meiner Erfahrung nach sind/waren die letzten "BASF Chromdioxid Extra Quality", die so ca. 1991/92 produziert wurden, die besten Cassetten für das System 2000.
Schrecklich sind/waren Agfa, z.T. Philips, PDM. Stets gut waren wie gesagt BASF, Scotch 3M, Grundig (= eigentlich auch BASF), und komischerweise manche Serien von Philips - aber nicht alle!
