  Hello Alexander,

i guess, the best is to replace the complete module instead of re-soldering any of the ICs.
But, unfortunately, most of these modules "Ablaufsteuerung" today are completely defective, because of leak accus on these modules! The circuit paths on the module get destroyed by the electrolyt from the leak accu.

So, if your module is in good condition, first check all the "fuse-resistors" on the module. They are marked in the service manual with a triangle symbol with a "!" inside. Most of them have 1 Ohms.
Perhaps, only one of these security resistors has blown...

Next, I would try to get another module (from a broken machine), and replace one IC after the other, beginning with the CMOS-IC, and last the "big" processor IC.

Sometimes, bad machines are on eBay. But most of them are in Germany...

Best regards,
stego

Yes, that´s the first to check: The module "Ablaufsteuerung" has a accu on it (1,2 volts), this one is defective and very often has already destroyed some of the circuit paths.
Now you can only check for broken circuit paths and remove the accu.
The machine works also without the accu, but the clock display shows a lot of stuff...

I bet, in your display there´s no clock prompt???
Or if there´s something, then it´s some stuff like "3 75" or so...

That´s the accu and it´s leakage...

Best regards,
stego ...

Hi everybody!

This is my 3rd post thread in the forum. I started with one aglutinating my 4 (four!) non-working V2000. Now I think it's time to split in different posts, one for each machine/problem.

Stego, and/or some other experienced user, I hope you can enlight me!

I have two non-working Grundig 2x4 "Best Nr. 2000". One is grey/silver, lacks the closing door for the little buttons zone below the display and seems a bit old. The other one is black, shiny, in almost perfect looking condition, and seems newer. Here is a picture of them:

The silver, old one had all belts broken/non existant, but it would turn on and somehow respond to keys pressed sometimes. The black one also would turn on, but display just garbage in the screen and didn't do anything.

After little time, the newer machine had one of ...

Hello Perepandel,

welcome to this forum!

Nearly every V-2000 built by Grundig (also "Interfunk", and also "Siemens" - your FM404 is the same as the Grundig 2x4 super stereo No. 880) has dry capacitors in the power supply.

And the third generation (like your "Interfunk" - this is the same as the Grundig 2x8 No. 2080 or when in stereo, then it´s the Grundig 2x4/2x8 stereo, No. 2280 or 2280a) has the problem with the accu on the module "Ablaufsteuerung".
Very often, the faulty accu has destroyed the module or/and the conductive stripes on the module.

Now, depending on wich machine you want to restore, please check the voltages of the powerboard at first. It is neccessary, that ALL voltages are present correctly!

After that, we can go ahead.

At the "Interfunk" machine, check the contact on the top of the video heads. They are delivering the DTF-voltage to the piezo-elements on the videoheads. You know, V-2000 has no manual tracking assembly, but a full automatic "Dynamic Track Following"-System.

This system works with voltages of +/- 150V, and this voltage must be present on the power assem...

The problem with the CMOS-IC has nothing to do with dry capacitors in the power supply!
First, I also thought, that dry capacitors in the power supply would cause this fault, but after replacing ALL capacitors in the power supply this failure still has remained.
So, then I first thought, the clock-IC on the "Ablaufsteuerung" is the faulty part, and replaced this IC first.
But, the failure still was present...
At least I tought, perhaps the display board (inside the front, with the button contact foils) is defecive. So, I replaced this board - still the same failure!
Then, after lot of reading in the service manual, I supposed, the CMOS-RAM can be faulty - and this was it!!!

So it is fact: Not the changing of the cap´s in the power supply has ruined the CMOS-RAM, it has been defective at it´s own!
After replacing this IC on the "Ablaufsteuerung" the failure never again has come back!

That´s my idea, why your fault in your 2x8 can also be the same.

Please check also: the flat plugs (on the modules "Ablaufsteuerung" and others) are broken very often. You can wind some adhesive tape around the plugs, so they fit properly then.

Also c...
